Advert introduction

Various hours to cover staff absence. This is a bank staff position which means we cannot guarantee regular hours - it is not Fixed, Part-Time or Full-Time work.

In Brighton & Hove we have six Early Years Children’s Centre Nurseries that provide high quality care and educational opportunities for children aged from birth to 5 years. Our nurseries include: Acorn Nursery, Bright Start Nursery, Cherry Tree Nursery, Jump Start Nursery, Roundabout Nursery and Tarnerland Nursery School. These nurseries are also linked to Children’s Centre’s where groups for parents are run alongside a crèche for their children.

Main advert detail

We are looking for relief nursery and crèche assistants who can be flexible and provide ad hoc cover for staff absences as and when required, sometimes on a regular basis.

Applicants must have the enthusiasm to work in a childcare setting supporting children in their care and learning. Candidates do not have to have a child care qualification but a willingness and understanding of the needs of children.

The role involves ensuring a welcoming, safe and stimulating environment; providing quality care and educational learning opportunities; meeting individual needs and sometimes providing 1:1 support. Duties will include taking part in adult focussed and child led activities; observing children at play and identifying next steps for development; preparing and serving snacks, encouraging good nutrition and sociable eating and working towards our policies and procedures.

Please note - Even though the deadline is stated as 31st Dec, shortlisting and interviews are carried out on a monthly basis so please make your application as soon as possible.
