Hackney Council are looking for an accounts payable professional to work in our central payments team. The team is responsible for processing fifty thousand invoices per annum, and ensure that all aspects of the creditor’s payment function for the Council achieves maximum effectiveness and efficiency, and is consistent with the Council’s Standing Orders and Financial Regulations.
As a Payments Supervisor, your key role will be to lead a team of payment officer’s to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the accounts payable function, ensuring that the team objectives are met and that the work is carried out efficiently and effectively to comply with corporate standards.
You must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of having worked in an accounts payable environment in a large complex organisation, with the ability to use your own initiative to work methodically through a high volume of tasks.
The central payments team are going through a transition period as we look to further improve our processes and efficiency, and therefore the ability to manage and implement change programmes effectively, with an enthusiastic and positive outlook is essential.
