We work closely with our Social Care, Health and Housing colleagues to deliver great services to our local community.
We have a vacancy within the Customer Finance team for an Appointee / Deputyship Officer to administer the finances of vulnerable adults to enable them to continue to live independently in the community. This is a new post in an established team based at Watling House, Dunstable
There will be some face to face contact with our clients as required and the work can bring some challenging and diverse situations on a daily basis.
The role involves negotiating skills, debt management, applying for Appointeeships / Deputyships as appropriate, applying for and managing benefits, liaising with outside companies on behalf of clients, working with our social care teams, understanding the clients and their needs and maintaining accurate and transparent records of all financial transactions. The role also covers the finalisation of residential fees accounts.
We are looking for someone who is accurate, methodical, organised and reliable and takes responsibility for their own workload. They will have good communication skills to liaise with our customers, care management teams and outside organisations; be PC literate and be able to demonstrate the skills to meet the needs of the role. They will also be required on occasions to travel to other offices or to meet clients at their homes.
