TRAINEE BUSINESS SUPPORT OFFICER

Salary Scale 1/2 (From £16,394 per annum)

 

An immediate opportunity has arisen within the Property Information Team within Development Services to recruit a Trainee Business Support Officer on a full time basis of 37 hours per week. The post has arisen due to a restructure within the Business Support Team.

This is an ideal opportunity for a suitable candidate to learn how to provide support to customers and members of staff, in a busy public sector department. The post holder will be expected to undertake internal training within the department as well as more formal training in Business Support. The post is located within the busy Development Services Department reporting day to day to the Senior Business Support Officer. The post holder will also assist the Principal Legal Officer for around 30% of their time, working on licencing and right to buy cases.

The successful candidate will need to be IT literate and be comfortable working with various IT packages. Experience in an administrative and customer facing role is desirable but not essential, however, you must be willing to learn how to communicate information to a variety of audiences both verbally and in writing. You will also need to learn how to work as part of a team and organise and prioritise your workload. To apply you must have 3 GCSE’s at Grade C or above or equivalent qualification (including Maths and English).

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.

The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
