EDUCATION FINANCE TEAM
We are looking for two exceptional candidates to complete our new Education Finance Team. These are exciting opportunities as all the team work across all the DSG blocks gaining experience and skills in High Needs and Early Years as well as working with maintained schools. We have excellent relationships with our schools and providers not least through our Schools Forum and the newly established Learning Partnership. 40 of our 74 schools are maintained, we have 60 PVI Early Years providers and commission over 1,300 High Needs places.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTANT EDUCATION FINANCE
SALARY: £48,108 to £51,236 including 10% market supplement
As Principal Accountant Education Finance you will provide a strategic financial advisory, planning and support service for all aspects of Education Finance, including direct support to schools and supporting commissioning arrangements between the LA and Specialist provisions. You will be responsible for a portfolio of schools, managing their budget and financial returns including SFVS; CFR; ratified budgets and budget monitoring; and have oversight of all their funding streams. You will assist in supporting schools facing financial challenges and in completing central returns such s.251, the APT and High Needs commissioning.
You will combine a high level of technical acumen with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with our community of providers. You will have experience of working with Head Teachers, Governors and School Business Managers and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience of Education Finance to provide the level of leadership and support required in these senior positions, including knowledge of the national funding formula and the challenges affecting providers including High Needs funding and the strategies being applied to address them.
