The role- Responsible to the Senior Recovery Officer for training on billing, collection and recovery of amounts due for Council Tax and Business Rates, including the dispatch of related notices and pursuit of unpaid debt. Responsible for attending Magistrates Court to support the Senior Recovery Officer for presenting Summons lists to attend committal courts as required.

Essential qualifications/experience-

Good customer care skills dealing with and advising members of the public in a professional manner under all circumstances

Good communication skills both written and verbal

Good overall standard of education.

Able to demonstrate a good level of numeracy

Shows a personal; commitment to the work of the service, taking ownership of tasks and seeking to meet set deadlines and targets

Trustworthy honest and assertive and able to work on own initiative

Flexible approach to working hours

Commitment to equal opportunities

Desirable qualifications/experience-

Knowledge of and the understanding of the importance of confidentiality

Experience of working in a Revenues environment

Knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates recovery procedures.

Full Driving License and use of vehicle

A minimum of 5 GCSE Grade C or above
