To assist the Safeguarding Coordinator in all tasks commensurate with the roles and responsibilities of Adult Safeguarding in Blaenau Gwent.

As a Safeguarding Social Worker in Blaenau Gwent you will be required to:
Develop the emphasis on multi agency/disciplinary working so that allegations of abuse are properly responded to in a systematic and timely manner.
Work within the framework of policies, plans, services and procedures in relation to ‘In Safe Hands’ and The Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 to safeguard adults at risk.
Engage and empower service users, their carers and their support networks and to actively elicit service user and carer feedback in order to ensure person centred interventions.
Support in the collection, analysis and reporting of performance information relating to Adult Safeguarding.
Essential skills and knowledge include but are not restricted to:
Knowledge of current legislation and guidance in relation to adult safeguarding
Experience of multi-agency working
Excellent verbal and written communication sills
IT literate
Able to work independently
Able to meet deadlines
The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The postholder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records.
