The Shared Internal Audit Service (SIAS) is a well-established traded service in its eleventh year. It delivers a range of assurance and other services to public sector bodies within Hertfordshire, including local councils, maintained schools, academies, council-owned trading companies and some independent organisations.
We are a successful and respected internal audit partnership with the objective of being at the leading edge of audit service delivery. We are hosted by Hertfordshire County Council and, and in addition to the County Council, have seven district and borough councils as partners to the shared service.

Assurance is entering an exciting and challenging phase and we need a Client Audit Manager who has excellent communication skills and thrives on client engagement and relationship-building. The role requires someone who is passionate about the value of internal audit profession.
Communication is key as you will be required to engage with officers and Members at all levels of our client organisations. As an individual, you will have strong credibility, excellent team working skills, be personally resilient and self-starting, and build positive working relationships.
The Client Audit Manager is a key leadership role within the SIAS management team, reporting to the Head of SIAS. The Client Audit Manager ensures the delivery of appropriate internal audit services to assigned partners and clients, and line manages a team of Senior Auditors, Auditors and Trainees in a matrix arrangement.
The Client Audit Manager will serve as Chief Audit Executive for their assigned internal audit clients. This is a delegated responsibility of the Head of Assurance arising from the shared service arrangements for internal audit. The Head of Assurance will retain overall accountability for those limited elements of the Internal Audit Charter and PSIAS that affect the SIAS business arrangements and / or all SIAS partners collectively. These include conformance with the PSIAS and the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP).
A key feature of the role will be developing and encouraging the future talent within SIAS as part of our ‘grow your own’ and succession planning strategy.
