We are looking for someone to join our existing team as a Customer Service Advisor. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our customers via the telephone, face to face or electronically. You will deal with a variety of enquiries relating to the wide range of services provided by the Council. In doing so you will deliver an outstanding customer experience and act as an ambassador for Lancaster City Council. An excellent face to face and telephone manner is essential, as is previous experience of working in a busy call centre or customer-focused environment.
You should be an effective communicator, a positive and co-operative team player and have the ability to adapt your behaviour to treat customers as individuals. You will be required to work at either Lancaster Town Hall or Morecambe Town Hall in our telephony and customer service centres. Training will be provided.
This post is for 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. A flexible hours working scheme is in operation although the customer service centre is open from 9am to 5pm.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate their skills at the application and interview stages.
The successful applicant will be subject to a Disclosure Scotland check.
