Temporary until 31 March 2024
30 - 37 hours per week – access to offices in Andover and Romsey, the post will work across the Borough
£23,446.92 - £25,701.72 per annum
This is a great time to join a forward thinking and proactive housing team, working within an ambitious and forward thinking local authority.
Are you a dynamic, customer focused individual who thrives in a busy and challenging customer facing environment? If yes, then we’d love to hear from you.
We are rethinking our approach to working with people. With a new emphasis on assessing people’s skills and strengths along with their support needs and risk factors, we want to reframe our relationship with our customers.
The successful candidate will work with our busy housing options team to support vulnerable people with agreed personalised housing plans, and with the overarching aim to prevent and relieve homelessness. These roles will assist people to remain in their homes, support people residing in temporary accommodation, and help people to access suitable alternative settled accommodation. This includes ensuring households are supported to move on from temporary accommodation in a timely way.
The Resettlement Officers will help people to access other forms of support, from a range of other agencies, with the aim to improve health and wellbeing, and reduce barriers that may otherwise prevent people from sustaining accommodation. Full training on the job will be provided.
Whilst we are open minded about relevant previous experience, a passion for helping customers, and a working knowledge of housing, landlord and tenant legislation, may be an advantage. You will be motivated, with a can do attitude to deliver excellent customer service and be able to actively encourage, influence and support people to change their behaviour. However, your attitude may be the most important factor in securing this role.
A large proportion of this role will be based in the community with access to our offices in Andover and Romsey as well as an element of home working. You must be able to travel to the more rural areas of the Borough to visit hosts and their guests.
We are looking for someone to work 30 – 37 hours, this might be some hours each day or 4 days per week.
When applying for this role ensure you take time when completing the support statement to demonstrate how you meet the person specification. Look at each point and try to write a sentence, or two, for each of the bullet points with an example of how you meet, or could meet the criteria. The supporting statement is the most important part of your application.
In return, we offer a number of benefits including the opportunity to join the Local Government pension scheme, generous annual leave, free car parking on site and a staff canteen. Further information about all the Council’s benefits can be found Employee Benefits | Test Valley Borough Council
