Are you an experienced and highly skilled welfare benefits adviser looking for a new challenge?

 

Hertfordshire County Council‘s Money Advice Unit provides advice, information and training on welfare benefits. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Welfare Benefits Adviser to join our Care and Support Benefits Advice team, providing casework, advocacy, and appeals representation as required.

 

We also have an exciting opportunity with our Hertfordshire Economic Recovery Team. Using your existing extensive welfare benefits knowledge to advise families who have suffered the physical and/or financial effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and cost of living crisis. 

 

You will deliver a specialist benefits advice service including casework, advocacy and appeals representation as required. Although based in Stevenage the role has a hybrid flexible working model from office, home and outreach venues. The service is delivered by phone, e-mail and in-person as required.

 

You will need an excellent knowledge of the whole range of welfare benefits, but especially Universal Credit. You will also need proven casework, organisational and IT skills. You will join an experienced and supportive team but must be able to work independently and manage a high caseload to a very high standard.

Excellent support and training is provided within the Money Advice Unit.
