The Wellbeing Service is a collaboration between YMCA DLG, Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and Southdown. As part of the Children & Young People’s (CYP) Wellbeing Service, YMCA DLG offer a range of short-term interventions tailored to young people’s presenting needs and age.
Established in 1996, Dialogue School Counselling is a BACP accredited school counselling service covering Sussex and Surrey. Dialogue has built an excellent reputation with schools, professionals and commissioners and the service has developed and expanded over the years, now operating across Brighton & Hove, East and West Sussex, and Surrey. We know that schools are deeply committed to meeting the individual needs of students as they prepare them to meet the challenges of growing up and moving toward adulthood.
The Role
An opportunity to join the Dialogue management team to support continued service development and expansion of the school counselling service. We are looking for a part-time (22.5 hours per week) on a 12 month fixed-term contract to join our experienced and enthusiastic counselling team to coordinate and deliver an innovative and clinically excellent mental health and wellbeing service. The post holder will manage counselling contracts, build and maintain relationships with schools, line manage Dialogue school counsellors, and ensure the highest quality counselling service is delivered to schools, children and young people.
The expected working pattern can be discussed during interview, but the days are to include Wednesdays and Fridays, with flexible hybrid working from home/around West Sussex and our offices based in Hove, Reed House.
Who you are
You will be a confident, organised individual with some experience of project development work, including project monitoring, evaluation and reporting. You will already have experience of supporting vulnerable young people to include working with risk issues such as self-harming and substance misuse, along with experience of Trauma-Informed practice. Our ideal candidate will also be confident in safeguarding, risk management and multi-agency working. Applicants will need to have experience in service management, and it is desirable but not essential to have a counselling or therapeutic background. If a qualified counsellor, applicants must be have BACP membership or registered with another recognised professional body (e.g. HCPC, UKCP.)
