About the role

The East Sussex Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse and VAWG Team is seeking a highly motivated, organised and creative individual to assist the Department with the successful implementation of allocated projects to support the development of domestic abuse and sexual violence services in East Sussex. The role also provides the opportunity to gain experience in supporting the MARAC function within the team and the coordination of Domestic Homicide Reviews. The post-holder will also have the chance to be involved in various multi-agency initiatives and campaigns around domestic abuse (DA), sexual violence and abuse (SVA) and violence against women and girls (VAWG).

This is an exciting time to join the team with the Domestic Abuse Act coming into force last year, providing opportunities for essential and innovative project work with key agencies, working collaboratively with key agencies and stakeholders including the VCSE sector and those with lived experience to improve the response and support for victims and survivors.

The role offers a valuable opportunity for someone wishing to develop their knowledge, skills and experience in commissioning, project development and delivery and monitoring; and statutory reviews such as Domestic Homicide Reviews, within a busy team committed to supporting victims and survivors of DA, SVA and VAWG.

The successful candidate will be a driven and flexible team player, who is able to work on diverse programmes of work, sometimes with competing deadlines. Whilst it is not essential, a working knowledge of case management systems and experience of working in the VAWG sector or within a safeguarding process is desirable.

This position involves hybrid working arrangements, split between working remotely and office-based working, to be agreed with line management upon commencement of the role.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact: Eleanor Marsh, Strategy and Partnership Officer for Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse and VAWG: Eleanor.Marsh@eastsussex.gov.uk or 07355 028260
