The Communities Directorate is the divisional team that is at the heart of driving forward the best outcomes with and for our residents. The Communities Directorate encompasses Community Safety, Economic Regeneration, our Library Service, and a broad range of specialist and targeted services and interventions, such as our refugee resettlement programme, the strategic oversight of domestic abuse and Prevent.

Salary: £52,670 - £55782 per annum

The Prevention and Assessment Team (PAT) is a collaboration of partners that share a common goal and vision, and that is to provide support to people when they need it, avoiding any unnecessary delays that may lead to a decline in an individual's wellbeing or a worsening in their circumstances.

PAT's core objectives are to prevent the escalation of avoidable circumstances and act to reduce the need for avoidable intervention and delay its occurrence. You will be responsible for the wider PAT partnership and will report into the PAT Board, setting the overall strategic direction of the service and managing the operational delivery teams.

As the Community Operations Manager, you will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Delivery of a challenging front facing service, managing direct resources, and influencing a multi-disciplinary partnership service.
  • Formulation, contribution and development of policies, processes, and guidance, considering views of stakeholders, and gaining appropriate ownership and approvals. Applying complex theories and detailed technical knowledge to devise approaches from first principles.
  • Provision of expert advice and guidance on complex issues verbally and/or through written reports.
  • Providing professional advice/support across the department and/or organisation and tackling difficult problems of a technical, professional, resource or people related nature.
