About the role
Administration & Finance Assistant - Oakwood Primary Academy
Oakwood Primary Academy is a two-form entry primary school in Eastbourne, for pupils aged 4-11.
We currently have over 300 pupils on roll. The majority of our pupils come from the local community – a community we are proud to serve. We are a school that is undergoing a transformation and is committed to raising standards for all our pupils. Our four values of ‘Knowledge, Equality, Determination and Achievement’ underpin everything that we do, belonging to every pupil. These help to create our vision for the school of ‘Being Better Every Day’.
We wish to recruit an Administration & Finance Assistant to work in our school office. Part of the role will be to provide a friendly welcome to our pupils, their families and other visitors to the school. We are seeking someone with excellent keyboard skills who is able to provide an efficient administration function for all school staff, including senior leaders. If you enjoy a varied workload in a frequently busy environment, then we would like to hear from you. Ideally you would be happy working within a team but also willing and able to take the initiative and work independently in order to meet deadlines.
You will possess excellent keyboard and organisational skills; with experience of using Word, Excel and Outlook. Previous experience of working within a school environment and a knowledge of data entry would be an advantage, however, training will be available. You will have responsibility for updating the schools’ information management system (Arbor) and overseeing the ParentPay facility within school. You will also assist by entering purchase orders and processing invoices, so the ability to pay attention to detail is essential. This post is to be worked Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.15pm each day during term time, plus an additional 5 days to be worked during school holiday periods, to be agreed in advance according to the business needs of the school.
Informal enquiries are warmly welcomed. Kindly contact Mrs Susan Hubbard, School Business Manager via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.Information regarding the school can be found on our website.
