College Central is a countywide Pupil Referral Unit with multiple sites across East Sussex. It provides education to young people who have been, or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school and may display difficult and challenging behaviours. College Central - Hastings is seeking to recruit a Deputy Head of Centre.
As the Deputy Head of centre, you will support the Head of Centre for Hastings with responsibility for strategic direction and development of student engagement and attendance, with rigorous attention to how this translates to aspirational outcomes for all students. As the Deputy Head of Centre, you will have input into curriculum development and implementation. This will include empowering staff in their delivery of high quality teaching and learning and preparing pupils for eventual progression post 16 or reintegration pre-16 into mainstream settings.
If successful, you will become part of a very committed and hardworking team that continues to be ambitious in its drive to improve outcomes for our pupils. You will join a highly dedicated and professional staff team and be part of a supportive working and learning environment, where your professional development is highly valued. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable it is not essential. We will provide you with high quality training and support.
