About the Role:
We have an opportunity for a recently created HR Manager (Employee Relations & Schools). This is a dynamic role in which you will provide expert advice and guidance to council managers and school leaders on complex employment issues, whilst managing a team of HR professionals to effectively deliver a high quality, customer focused HR service. Developing constructive working relationships with key stakeholders including Council Managers, School Leaders and Trade Union/Professional Association representatives is a vital part of the role. In addition, you will take a lead role in the development and management of Schools SLA income and expenditure. The work is invariably of a sensitive nature and requires a unique combination of skills to deliver workable solutions to a diverse range of issues.
About the Candidate:
We are looking for a determined and resilient HR professional with a CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent and specialist knowledge gained through significant work experience, providing strategic advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels, including Schools, Trade Unions and Senior Leaders. You will be self-motivated with a proven ability to work on your own initiative. You must be able to articulate and influence senior leaders and managers on aspects of legal and commercial risk, including issues such as collective employee relations cases, TUPE, Redundancy and Restructures, providing options and recommendations. You will liaise and negotiate with both internal and external legal advisors and employees. Deliver an effective HR service, in accordance with the key deliverables as outlined by HR/OD and corporate plans. Above all you will be passionate about improving the way we engage our employees to ensure our residents are at the heart of everything we do.
