A great opportunity for someone looking for their first step in Marketing or Communications as a career. The successful candidate will work withn the Marketing & Communications team at Chelmsford City Council, gaining an understanding of marketing and communications across a number of our public venues, as well as assisting in our City Centre Management team.
This year will be an exciting year for us and Chelmsford more widely, with a major refurbishment of our theatre about to start, the redevelopment of Tindal Square and many other exciting projects. Both the Riverside Leisure Centre and Chelmsford Museum have also been refurbished in recent years. By assisting with marketing efforts behind these and other service areas, such as Hylands and Our Events, the postholder will develop skills that will be useful in pursuing a career in marketing. This includes assisting the team with updates on our websites, social media accounts (incl. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and helping with e-newsletters.
The role is not purely office based so the postholder will be out and about too, to experience and engage with customers and businesses by helping with outreach marketing and at events, launches & press nights; as well as co-ordinating and assisting with local distribution of publicity materials.
The ideal candidate will be educated to A level standard/equivalent, have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office along with good writing skills and attention to grammar and spelling. With excellent communication and organisational skills, the successful candidate will become a key member of our friendly team.
Interviews will be held between Monday 22nd -Wednesday 24th August.
