Working in Schools Capital Delivery you will play a critical part in the continued transformation of the Council, and as such we are seeking to appoint an apprentice to join our Schools Asset Management team.

As a part of the role, you will be supported to undertake and achieve a Business Administrator Apprenticeship at Level 3 and gain a nationally recognised qualification. You will be learning the theory and applying your skills in the workplace, attending a structured programme as part of the apprenticeship.

We are looking for a candidate with a can-do attitude and approach to work who enjoys producing high-quality information and can communicate effectively with our schools and colleagues.

Key responsibilities:

  • To engage and work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Ensure all the legislative and statutory changes to the council’s estate is observed
  • To maintain the council asset database for school buildings
  • High level of professionalism, care, and integrity, ensuring a positive image of the organisation is promoted at all times
  • Good knowledge and application of IT systems and software packages
  • High level of flexibility, a positive attitude and ability to adapt to changes
  • Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and be flexible to respond to service delivery requirements

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, using problem solving skills and initiative
  • Excellent levels of literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to work flexibly, balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines whilst understanding the needs, timescales and deadlines of others.

  • Ability to work independently on agreed projects, delivering to time, cost and quality
