About the role

Do you have excellent communication skills and experience of and/or a qualification in Restorative Justice, Youth Justice or Criminology?

Are you keen to support victims of crime and work with children to repair the harm for their behaviour?

The East Sussex Youth Justice Service (YJS) is seeking a Restorative Justice (RJ) Worker to  work with victims of offences committed by children and support children to repair the harm to victims.

About the Role

Restorative Justice gives victims the opportunity to communicate with those who offend against them and to explain the impact of the crime – it empowers victims by giving them a voice within the criminal justice system.  It also holds those who commit offences to account for what they have done and helps them to take responsibility and make amends.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for and some experience in Restorative Justice, Youth Justice and/or Criminal Justice and an interest in supporting victims within the field of Youth Justice.  They will have experience of working with children and may have experience of working with victims of crime.

The RJ Worker will work alongside the RJ & Volunteer Coordinator to communicate with victims of crime and facilitate direct and indirect restorative processes.

The role does require countywide travel so a full, clean UK driving licence is essential, along with access to a vehicle.

Hours of work are flexible around the clients so you must be able to work some late evenings. The contract is on a full-time, permanent basis, however, applications for part-time hours will be accepted.
