We’re looking to recruit an experienced Technical Officer to work within the Council’s Housing Improvement Team.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education with a broad knowledge of all relevant legislation.
They will be self-motivated, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as an agile approach to their work.
They will be responsible for all aspects of work related to administering Disabled Facilities Grants and Housing Assistance, from initial enquiries through to completion of works.
They will assist in the enforcement of housing standards within the Borough and related housing initiatives.
They will assist with the identification, inspection and licensing of houses in multiple occupation (HMOs). They will work with landlords and residents to ensure compliance with licence conditions and taking enforcement action where necessary.
They will assist with the licensing of caravan sites in the Borough and the inspection of those sites. They will work with licence holders and residents to ensure compliance with licence conditions and taking enforcement action where necessary.
This is a part time role working three days/22.2 hours per week.
