About the role
Children's Services are looking to recruit an Information Analyst to work on the East Sussex Aspire system (Capita One Youth Solutions). The Aspire system provides recording, reporting and monitoring of the council’s interactions with young people. The system is used to ensure high levels of participation in Post-16 education, and to reduce rates of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET).
You will be producing analysis and written summary reports for various audiences including senior managers. This will involve manipulating a variety of datasets from Aspire & other systems, to monitor activity, to identify areas for improvement, to make statutory data returns, and to monitor data quality in the system.
You will provide training & guidance to system users, work with the East Sussex technicians & the system supplier (Capita) to resolve technical issues, carry out system testing when needed, and undertake tasks to improve the data quality in Aspire.
Throughout your work you will take responsibility for the development and maintenance of efficient and effective processes.
You will be a highly motivated and hardworking problem-solver, with the ability to work on your own initiative as well as in consultation with colleagues and partners. The role requires confident and advanced use of information systems to extract, collate, analyse and present data, using tools including Excel, Access, and SQL queries.
Accuracy and attention to detail will be key attributes, as well as a dedication to robust and ethical data handling, all in the pursuit of improving young people’s lives.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
