An exciting opportunity has arisen to be the Head of Operations Centre at the London Waltham Forest. We’re looking to recruit a permanent manager to this key post within our Regulatory & Contingency Planning Services.
This role will provide a professional, proactive, customer-focused service within a fast-paced, technology-driven 24/7 Operations Centre.
The new state-of-the-art Operations Centre oversees areas including (but not limited to) borough-wide CCTV monitoring and surveillance, Out of Hours telephone call handing, Responder services, Alarms monitoring and management, CycleHubs management, manned security, loan worker solution, remote door access, key holding, Met Police liaison and provision of body worn cameras and radios.
The Operations Centre is a financially and commercially self-sustaining service providing services to clients both internally and externally with huge potential for further commercial growth across the borough.
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual with demonstrable skills in managing a busy and demanding CCTV Operations Centre and being responsible for our Critical Incident Management Service. The post-holder will need to have relevant qualifications and/or experience.
In line with the newly cabinet approved and innovative CCTV 2020-2025 strategy, the successful candidate will lead, develop and maintain an effective Borough-wide CCTV Operations Centre, utilising the latest technology to monitor, evaluate and review the effectiveness of CCTV and other service initiatives.
The post-holder will:
- Lead the service area and communicate effectively with senior leaders to influence future strategies.
- Show pride and passion for public service and be able to create and engage others in delivering a shared vision.
- Be expected to work to tight and often changing timescales
- Be able to form effective partnerships both internally and externally, sharing information, resources and support.
- Displaying excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to use evidence and knowledge to support accurate, expert decisions and advice, and understand how this role fits in with and supports organisational objectives.
- Work flexibly at different hours as required
The appointed Head of Service will play a pivotal role in delivering key strands of the strategy to take the council forward as a borough supporting its clean, safe and green agenda.
