Assistant Housing Options Officer

£25,419 to £27,514 per annum

37 hours

Fixed term contract of up to 12 months (funded post)

Arun Housing Options Team is an extremely busy front-line service working to prevent homelessness, to sustain tenancies and to identify sources of accommodation across all tenures.

If you are looking for your next challenge, we want to hear from you.  We need positive, resilient people to form part of our new team to drive service improvement. You will need to be able to demonstrate a real passion for what you do, care about how you do it and have a track record of delivering excellent quality services with a strong focus on performance and customer satisfaction.

Working for us will bring fresh challenges and the opportunity to grow and develop. One thing we can guarantee is that you will gain job satisfaction being part of our team

It is important to us that job applicants for this role are able to manage multiple demands and to self-motivate, retaining a resilient and flexible approach to their work and a willingness to contribute positively to team-working. The work tasks will require persistence and the ability to gain trust, while negotiating successful outcomes.

It is not essential that applicants have previous experience of housing options work, although it would be an advantage if candidates have experience of key-working roles with clients, or work in the wider homelessness/social housing field or in the private rented sector.

So, if you love working in an environment where no two days are the same and you thrive working in a team that’s constantly striving to improve and make a difference, then we would love to hear from you.

Please note this post requires a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

The post is based at the Civic Centre in Littlehampton, with the opportunity for occasional home working (subject to review). There may also be some time spent at Bognor Town Hall and other locations in the District.

For an informal chat about the posts please contact Stephanie Mepstead, Housing Options Team Leader on 01903 737479 or Jayne Knight, Housing Options Team Leader on 01903 737708.

Arun employees wishing to apply for the role on a secondment basis should speak to their line manager first - applications without manager approval will not be considered.

CLOSING DATE :   7 August 2022 - 23:59pm
