Job Advert – CIAG Advisor and Careers support

Contract: Service level agreement/Term time only 

Hours of work: 3 days per week term time plus results days, open evenings and KS4 / KS5 option evenings

Rate of pay: Competitive - To be discussed dependent on experience and qualification

Reporting to: Careers Lead / Deputy Headteacher / Director of Sixth Form

The Careers Advisor (CA) is to work with the Careers Lead to be responsible for careers guidance to pupils across the whole school (7-13). In addition, the CA will be integral to informing the direction of Careers Education and Guidance. The CA will play a full and active role in the life of the school and Sixth Form e.g. staff meetings & assemblies.

The purpose of the role:

  1. Implementation of the Christ the King High School and Sixth Form Centres careers plan to ensure that the Gatsby Benchmarks are consistently met and to a high standard.
  2. To provide impartial information, advice and guidance to help people make realistic choices about education, training and work.
  3. Work with pupils and students throughout years 7 to 13 to provide them with impartial careers information, opportunities for learning and advice and guidance to enable them to develop and implement career management skills; at key times of the year prioritising Years 11 and 13 to ensure a successful transition to post 16 or 18 destinations and LAC / PP / SEND and EAL pupils and Sixth Form students.
  4. To network and liaise with external partners, including employers, learning providers and career guidance services to ensure effective implementation of the careers plan.
