The Senior Planning Officer (Compliance) position is within the East Area Development Team and will predominantly deal with the investigation of more complex complaints over non-compliance with planning regulations or conditions relating to planning approvals. The Department is looking for proactive individuals to join the Team with a proven track record of dealing with complex cases.
Whilst ideally, we would like candidates to have either a degree in a relevant ‘planning’ subject or an enforcement qualification we are able to support applications where the candidate has investigative skills and would be willing to undertake an enforcement qualification.
We are ideally looking for candidates who have experience of working in Local Government enforcement. However, we are happy to hear from applicants who do not have this experience but who have undertaken enforcement/investigative related roles, as we would provide support in gaining this experience on the job.
This post has an extensive amount of public contact, attendance at public meetings, hearings/inquiries, Court and other meetings as required. Some out of office hours working is part of the job requirement on occasion. The Council is currently operating a hybrid working arrangement which is subject to review.
