Housing Income and Leaseholder Management

We are now recruiting for an Income Management Adviser to join our Housing Income and Leaseholder Management team. In this role you will be responsible for providing a proactive and supportive income management service to ensure tenancies are sustained and rent recovery is maximised.
You will undertake a range of duties including, but not limited to:
- Proactively engaging with tenants offering support and guidance
- Taking a preventative, early intervention approach to arrears management
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across to the Council, external agencies and support providers to achieve the best outcomes for tenants
- Initiating and managing formal recovery processes where necessary, including serving legal notice and attending court
- Attending evictions where necessary to ensure they are carried out in the prescribed manner
- Preparing reports and statistical data as required
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in social housing as well as an excellent knowledge of current social housing issues and relevant legislation and of housing finance issues in particular in rent recovery and the welfare benefits system.
You will also have a HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject and will have the ability to interpret and apply sound judgement to legislation, policy and processes. You will carry out your work with a customer focus, you will use effective conflict management skills and will work to encourage tenant participation at all times.
