Salary: £27,167 up to £29,869 inclusive annual salary (based on part time 25 hrs p/w) + up to 18.5% employer pension contribution, plus car user allowance
Contract: Permanent
Post: Part-time (25 hours/week)

Annual Leave: 29.5 days up to 32.5 days, plus public bank holidays

In this role your main focus will be food safety, but you will also be providing general support across a number of key areas of activities within the team including health and safety and others. You will contribute to the team’s work programme to ensure compliance with the Council’s enforcement policies, protocols, and the statutory requirements of the various government agencies, in particular the Council’s Official Food Control programme.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be educated to degree standard (or equivalent) and be EHRB registered or have a Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection awarded by EHRB or hold equivalent qualifications which have been formally assessed and endorsed by the CIEH
- have previous experience of successfully working as an Authorised Officer
- possess up to date working knowledge of the Competency Framework as specified within the Food Law Code of Practice
- be an excellent communicator, who can analyse and interpret complex situations and devise effective solutions
- hold a UK driving license and has a vehicle insured for business use as required
