This is an exciting opportunity to work in a beautiful location just south of Bristol on the gateway to the south-west and join a dynamic in-house legal department which delivers an efficient and high-quality legal service to its client departments within North Somerset Council. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated regulatory lawyer to be part of our busy litigation team.

You will need to be a confident court advocate with experience managing a wide range of cases with your experience preferably gained in a local authority environment, although cross transferable skills and experience gained elsewhere will be considered.  Experience of working in local government is desirable but not essential.

This post holder will ideally have comprehensive knowledge and experience in handling a caseload of contentious regulatory matters, including prosecutions and will be required to provide comprehensive advice to council departments covering a wide spectrum of public services.  The successful candidate will be expected to manage a wide ranging caseload of both straightforward and complex legal work of any nature.
