Who will I work for?

Halton Children’s centres

What will I do?

You will work with Halton Children’s Centre teams and be based across the four Children’s Centres in Runcorn or the Four Children’s Centres in Widnes, you will be asked for your location preference on the application form

What training will I receive?

Level 3, Early Years Educator

What skills will I gain?

As the successful candidate you will have the opportunity to gain work experience in an early years environment working with children under 5 years and their families. The role includes assisting the team to plan and deliver a range of high quality crèche and play experiences in the Children’s Centre setting as well as community venues and families homes.

Successful candidates will undertake a level 3 qualification and you will be supported and mentored by the children’s centre teams and the training provider. This is an apprenticeship for up to 24 months.

What experience, knowledge and skills do I need?

Experience of working with children, families or communities is desirable but is not essential for this role, as mentoring and training will be provided. You will need to be committed to completing an appropriate qualification and learning new skills and experiences.

You will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm and reasons for wanting to work with children and families. You will need to be organised and use good time management skills to plan your day.
