Now is a fantastic time to join Shropshire Council.

As we emerge from the pandemic, we’re assembling a new team of Chief Officers / Service Managers to drive the transformation of our adults’ services and create a better future for all residents - prioritising the quality of residents’ lives, and putting that at the heart of everything we do.

We’re therefore looking for social care and commissioning professionals to lead high-performing teams that are keen to do even more, and to design and deliver high-quality services that respond to the needs of residents and are recognised as exemplars amongst their peers.

The Roles

We’re recruiting 5 Chief Officers / Service Managers to lead a range of teams and services across: all ages provider services, adult social work operations, hospital social work, reablement, safeguarding, mental health, short term support, community services, and all-age commissioning.

Whichever role you join in, you’ll be an important member of our People Directorate’s leadership team with significant strategic leadership responsibility.

Whilst relevant operational experience will be required, it is your values, behaviours and ability to work strategically and corporately and with a wide range of partners that will determine your ability to make a difference and accelerate your career.

Emotional intelligence, communication skills, and the ability to influence and innovate will all be key ingredients in redesigning services in the most efficient and effective way to ensure the best outcomes for residents.
