Adopt South is a new regional adoption agency going live on 1 April 2019 and is formed through the partnership between Hampshire County Council, Isle of Wight Council, Portsmouth City Council and Southampton City Council, with support from voluntary adoption agencies, Adoption UK, Barnardos and PACT.
There is existing excellent practice in adoption in the Adopt South region, and by building on the strong partnership and collaborative workforce we aim to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and families. We are seeking an experienced and passionate adoption professional who can drive innovative practice across the region.
Adopt South will place approximately 150-180 children each year, within a budget of £4.5m. You will be responsible for overseeing recruitment of adopters, assessment, panels and adoption support, ensuring leading edge practice and quality across all aspects of Adopt South's activity.
With your experience of managing adoption services previously, you will know what excellent practice looks like. Your experience of transforming services will underpin how you shape and develop services to ensure this is consistently delivered. Currently registered with HCPC and with a Social Work degree (or equivalent), you will have strong knowledge and understanding of adoption regulations and relevant legislation and practice. You will have strong skills in service improvement, with the ability to use excellent influencing and change management skills to work across organisational boundaries. Most importantly however, you will have a passion for supporting children and families to ensure that they can thrive and flourish. This is an opportunity to lead a fantastic team, make a real difference to children and families and be at the cutting edge of new ways of working. If you think you have the enthusiasm, energy and skills to be part of Adoption South and would like to arrange an informal conversation with Steve Crocker, Children's Services Director, Hampshire County Council, please call 01962 846400.
