Birchwood is a care home that provides 24 hour accommodation for 60 older people, specialising in providing care and support for older people, many with a diagnosis of dementia, Nursing needs or other cognitive impairment, in a homely and supportive environment where the residents can feel happy and secure and to enable them to achieve their maximum independence. This role is a 33 hrs post working on a rotation pattern. Your shift pattern will, including shifts and alternate weekends, with both supervisory and hands-on responsibilities. As well as deputising for the Home manager and the deputy manager. You will work alongside and manage the care team to ensure that the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents are met.
Adaptable and approachable, you will have two years care experience, ideally with dementia, and elderly frail, good working knowledge of CQC standards together with a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Care. Familiar with the principles of person-centred care, you will also posess excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, a 'can do' attitude and the ability to remain calm when dealing with challenging and difficult situations.
