Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we’ve developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We’re one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.

Do you want to become part of our Redbridge Council team and help us in supporting Learning and Development programme opportunities for our people?

We have developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council. This is an exciting time for the London Borough of Redbridge; we committed to increasing learning opportunities for our people and growing local talent.

Our HR Business Support Apprentice role offers you the chance to start your career in Human Resources and Organisational Development. You will be involved in a range of activities and get a real practical experience of how HR works in a council role. You will be giving advice on training options including apprenticeships, providing information to measure success, promoting opportunities for staff development, and giving general advice on Recruitment and HR processes. There are many other opportunities to learn and develop your skills across the council. Working for us means that no two days will be the same.

As part of this HR Business Support role, you will be supported to undertake and achieve a Business Administrator Apprenticeship at Level 3 and gain a nationally recognised qualification. You will be learning the theory and applying the skills in the workplace and attending a structured programme as part of the apprenticeship.

Once you complete your apprenticeship there is the potential to move through the career progression levels within the team and continue your career in Human Resources with us.

You may not be surprised to know that as a council supporting the Redbridge community, we have a wide range of staff networks you can get involved in depending on your interests and passions.

Applicants will have some experience of business administration and ideally Maths and English at grades A – C or equivalent i.e., Functional Skills. More important is an interest in Human Resources and Learning and Development with the ability to build relationships. Attention to detail, passion, a friendly attitude, and willingness to learn are what we are looking for to be an important member of our HR team.

Priority will be given to applicants who live in the borough of Redbridge.

If you would like an informal discussion about this role then please contact: anthony.hartigan@redbridge.gov.uk
