Post: Monitoring Officer - Section 106 Ref: SMO
Salary: £22,571 p.a. (37 hour week)
With upcoming developments such as Brookfield Riverside, the Waltham Cross town centre regeneration and the highly-anticipated Sunset Studios for film, television and animation, Broxbourne is an exciting place to live and work, with the Council’s Planning team leading the way on these exciting projects.
These developments are expected to create thousands of permanent new jobs, boosting the local economy and creating economic resilience for future generations.
The Council’s Planning team sits within the newly formed Place Directorate and will be instrumental in the delivery of these projects. The recently redesigned team has had its resources increased to ensure it is perfectly placed to deliver the Council’s ambitious aims. We are recruiting for posts at all levels and there are clearly defined career paths for the right candidates. If you want to work in a busy, challenging yet fulfilling environment at the heart of the Council, then this is the place for you.
The Council secures significant contributions from developments to deliver necessary infrastructure and community facilities to meet increased demand for services and to mitigate any negative impacts. Over the last two years, the Council has negotiated over £70 million in Section 106 contributions. We want an organised individual to monitor the collection and expenditure of Section 106 funds. You will have an ability to review legal documents, liaise with a variety of internal/external colleagues to manage expenditure, and keep the Council’s monitoring software, Exacom, updated.
We are committed to safer recruitment, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The benefits package includes generous leave entitlement, a full training and development programme, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and free membership to the Council’s leisure centres, which includes free access to gyms, swimming pools, fitness classes, racket sport sessions, a health suite and a range of generous discounts across other leisure and culture services.
Broxbourne Council is an Equal Opportunities employer.
