About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and delivery-focused team player who can help to deliver the Council’s Economic Development Framework and Economic Action Plan.
The existing team is well regarded by the local business community and has established a number of initiatives over the past four years. The post holder will help to develop these in terms of breadth, on-going improvement, and rate of take up. Being able to monitor change in the economic climate will be key to delivering on-going improvement to the programme of work.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the local economy and its drivers; experience of working with the businesses community and other stakeholders.
You will have a range of responsibilities, including developing relationships with locally based start-ups and SME’s to support them in their growth plans, progressing our Skills agenda, and supporting local business networks. You will be part of a small team and be expected to assist in the delivery of all actions
To be successful you must have outstanding communication and analytical skills and experience of collaborative working and partnership development. You will be expected to engage with the local business community through a range of channels, including social media.
