Can you help South London deliver its potential?

The South London Partnership is a sub-regional collaboration of Croydon, Kingston-upon-Thames, Merton, Richmond-upon-Thames and Sutton Councils.  Together they make up a vibrant sub-region with 1.2 million residents and an economy larger than the cities of Manchester or Birmingham.  Committed to working together to deliver better and more efficiently, increase their influence with the Mayor, government and others, and secure the investment and powers needed to pursue their ambitions, the SLP boroughs are working together to deliver growth in the sub-region and polycentric growth in London.

You will have experience of working in partnership across organisations and a strong track record of developing and delivering policies and programmes that have made a real difference, preferably in at least one of the following areas:  skills, business or employment support, or economic development.  But you'll also be able to pick up new agendas swiftly and intelligently, and work across boroughs and with other partners to shape up common positions and secure delivery of practical actions.

You will be able to work with senior politicians and officers in local government and beyond, impressing them with your clarity of thinking, innovation and delivery-focus. Your reputation will be as someone who takes ownership and initiative, is a problem-solver and can turn complex ideas into deliverable outcomes.  Well-honed skills in communication, influencing, partnership building, programme management and policy analysis, creation and delivery will be key to your success.

You'll relish the idea of working in a fast-moving environment with regular exposure to senior politicians and officers as part of a small, flexible team that operates like a start-up, turning its hand to whatever is needed to get the job done and punching well above its weight.
