Family Support Worker - Early Help and Prevention
Band: 6 Salary: £22,223 - £25,927 p.a.

Your New Role
Are you an experienced family support practitioner with a passion for working with children and families with a range of challenges? Are you able to demonstrate a range of excellent skills, which will support and empower families to make positive changes? Do you understand the challenges families experience and have a creative approach to solving them? If so, you might be the person we are looking for.
Reporting to the multi-agency leadership team, you will engage with families and young people to assess need holistically and work with them to develop sustainable solutions that improve their functioning and achieve better outcomes for their children.
You will ensure that help is provided to families and young peoples in the most effective way to ensure that the improved outcomes are achieved, including reducing demand on statutory child protection services and other specialist services.
Occasional evening and out of hours working are requirements for these positions.
What you'll need to succeed
You need to hold a nationally recognised qualification such NVQ level 4 or other higher level qualification or equivalent experience and have an up to date working knowledge of safeguarding children and young people. You will also need to be a car driver with access to transport or able be able access public transport to move across Portsmouth City
