We are seeking to recruit an adaptable and pro-active Building Control Technician to provide support to our busy Building Control team to cover a period of maternity leave for seven months.

The Building Control Technicians are responsible for processing Building Regulation and other applications and for responding to general enquiries for information including responding to Local Land Charge and Personal searches, and basic technical advice. The team also checks submissions for completeness and inputs data onto various IT systems.

You will need to have excellent communication skills (both oral and written), demonstrate an attention to detail, have good IT skills along with the ability to read and interpret building plans. You will need to work on your own initiative, have a flexible approach, and the ability to manage and prioritise your workload.

You will be based at the Council’s main offices in Kings Hill, West Malling but opportunities for flexible and remote working are available.
