Car Park Patrol Officer, Andover

£21,792 - £23,205 pa

37 hours per week generally 8:15am to 4:10pm,

over 5 days Monday – Saturday, working 3 in 4 Saturdays.

Want to boost your daily steps and work outside? Do you also have excellent customer service skills?

If so, this is a great opportunity for you to join us as a member of our car park team.  Test Valley Borough Council is a great place to work and employees benefit from a generous holiday allowance, ongoing learning and development, free car parking when at work, discounted leisure facilities and a defined benefits pension scheme.

Based at our Andover car park office, you will patrol the Council’s car parks, checking if vehicles are parked in accordance with the parking rules, ensuring that ticket machines are operational and issuing penalty charge notices to vehicles as appropriate.

As a representative of the Council out and about in the town, you’ll be engaging with members of the public as you walk around, so excellent customer service and communication skills are essential. You will also need to be able to effectively calm potential conflict situations, remaining polite and professional.

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, who gets along well with others and works well as part of a team, as well as being someone who is content and able to effectively work on their own.

Being a small team, patrol officers based in Andover provide cover patrolling the car parks in Romsey a few times a month, helping to add variety to the daily work. Knowledge of Andover and Romsey town centres and their car parks would be an advantage though not essential as full training will be given.
