About the role

We are recruiting night staff for Health and Social Care Connect (HSCC), our access point into adult community health and social care services in East Sussex.

HSCC is a fast-paced office based environment and you will need to be a good team player, well organised, and be able to work well under pressure. You will have a confident telephone manner, good attention to detail and excellent written communication skills. You will also have good IT skills. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working on a range of tasks and meeting the challenge of tight deadlines and liaising with out of hours services. Please tell us about your experience and transferrable skills in your application.

You will be processing referrals from health and social care professionals, gathering further information when necessary and sending the referrals on to the appropriate community health or social care service to ensure that the client receives the care and support they need as soon as possible. Overnight you will also be responsible for managing calls to the Emergency Duty Service in Adult Social Care. Previous health or social experience is not essential as we provide a comprehensive training program.

HSCC provides an excellent foundation for those seeking a career in health and social care and is committed to ongoing professional development. We have developed a competency framework for staff to work towards and provide regular supervision and support.

HSCC is a 24/7 service and this role requires night shift working with the flexibility to work some days approximately every 4-6 weeks on a rota basis. There are salary enhancements for weekend and night working. 

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
