Making a difference at St Helens as a Therapeutic Parenting Practitioner (Educational Psychologist)
At St Helens Borough Council we are committed to working as an integrated team to deliver the best outcomes for our children. As part of the Councils continued focus on improving the services we provide to the children, young people and families of St Helens, we have introduced a dedicated service to meet the needs of our most vulnerable children and young people, who are on the edge of care, in care, or where there is a risk of placement instability and where there is possible reunification of children and young people with their families. This dedicated service provides intensive support to children and families, as well as both residential and outreach support and we are looking for committed individuals who really want to make a difference.
As an experienced Educational Psychologist, you will be part of an integrated team, providing consultation and direct therapeutic interventions for children, young people, and their families, to stabilise the children within the family environment. You will work alongside the allocated social worker and integrated team to provide consultation and interventions, as required for the children, young people, and their family.
We are seeking a team member with excellent knowledge and an understanding of current issues with families, ACE’s and specific assessments and therapeutic interventions, which can lead to positive change. In line with our new ways of working this role is hybrid and will involve working from home with occasionally working in our agile hub at Fourways Children’s Centre and Atlas House in the St Helens Town Centre
