Applications are invited for the post of HR Administration Officer in the HR Department, based in the Town Hall. The successful applicant will be a member of a team undertaking duties to enable the smooth and efficient running of the HR Department’s administrative processes.
The post is offered on a full-time basis of 37 hours per week.
The main purpose of the job is to provide high quality HR administrative support as a specialism to the HR team, across the full range of HR services including recruitment, retention, absence management, training, all HR processes and case management administration. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that all HR Administration is carried out effectively and accurately, and in line with Council policy and best practice, and for reviewing and developing processes and procedures as required.
The post-holder will create, manage and maintain systems, contracts and other employee data in line with Council and HR policies and procedures and statutory obligations, updating the HR and Payroll system as required for starters, leavers, contract changes and sickness absence.
We are looking for a great team player, who has integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude. You should be able to work autonomously and be self-motivated, with highly developed organisational skills, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful applicant should have five GCSE’s Grades A*-C or equivalent including English Language and Maths at A*-C and have experience of delivering and developing administration activity in a busy office environment. Applicants should be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience of IT systems and applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
