An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent HR Officer based in Barrow in Furness.  The area is perfect for people wanting the lifestyle offered by easy access to beaches and the Lake District. This is a challenging role with responsibilities across all aspects of the HR function.  The role is varied and will include providing professional advice and guidance to managers on recruitment, performance, sickness absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance cases and includes opportunities to be involved in, and lead on, a variety of working groups to develop and improve the employee experience and the culture of the organisation. The postholder will also undertake project work to contribute to HR policy development and implementation.

The post is offered on a full-time basis of 37 hours per week.

We are looking for someone with integrity and approachability, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a great team player with experience of influencing and working with people at all levels.

The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.  The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information and advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
