An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Drainage Engineer to join Central Bedfordshire Council's Flood Risk Management Team.
The post holder will assist the Flood Risk Management Team in delivering the Council’s role as the Lead Local Flood Authority for Central Bedfordshire. The varied workload for this post involves undertaking flood investigations and enforcement, appraisal of drainage design and inspection, procurement and contract management, and providing formal and informal advice on sustainable drainage systems (SUDS) and general flood risk management to the Local Planning Authority, developers, strategic partners, councillors and members of the public.
We are looking for someone who has the technical skills to deliver this high-profile role, with the tact, diplomacy and communication skills essential for effective partnership working.

You will be qualified to degree level in flood risk engineering, civil engineering, environmental sciences or other appropriate subject, ideally with post-degree experience of working in the flood risk management field.
A full driving licence or alternative means of accessing locations off site is required.
