We are looking for a diligent, enthusiastic person to fill this role to help us build a full data capability so we can better tailor our services, make better decisions and understand more about what residents need.
You will help us to create business and user value from data, using analytical techniques to derive insights and opportunities to improve.

Using a range of languages, tools and software product, you’ll develop visualisations and reports which help services to improve.

Working in partnership with services, you’ll help them understand, manipulate and link their data, taking responsibility for improving data quality and accessibility.
You will be passionate about great customer service, helping people both within and outside the Council.
You will be enthusiastic and not afraid to “try things out” and learn new tasks but also not afraid to ask for help.
Key tasks include:
•    Selecting and applying innovative analytical techniques to data, to create information which supports and enhances strategy development, business decision-making and service delivery.
•    Working with services to help them make better use of data, including extracting data from systems, building reports, insights and dashboards, and helping services interpret the data gathered.
•    Undertaking independent analytical projects, working with the data engineer to suggest where data extracts, feeds or streams would help to build insight. Translate these insights into a variety of visual, clear reports which help the Council make better, quicker decisions.
Location of work to be discussed and agreed with the Chief Officer Digital and Communications and the provisions of the Council’s Agile Working policy will apply.

We’re making a difference – and we need people who share our vision and ambition.
Rugby Borough Council invests in its people, offering both time and resources to equip you with the tools to develop your career.  We offer agile working, a flexitime scheme, family friendly policies, generous annual leave, and excellent pension scheme.  We also celebrate difference and diversity, a Disability Confident employer which became the first borough or district council in the country to achieve the ‘excellent’ standard under the Equality Framework for Local Government.
