About The Job

Salary: £21,269 - £22,571 per annum (£10,634 - £11,285 per annum, pro rata)
Working Pattern: Part time, 18.5 hours per week, flexible working available, Working arrangements and delivery of core hours subject to agreement
Location: County Hall, Chichester

Reporting to the WSFRS Senior Advisor (Projects) and providing additional support to the wider OAG team, you will assist in the collection, coordination and analysis of management information required to support all WSFRS project, programme & project governance and documentation, and associated WSFRS governance processes.

You will assist in the planning, development, and provision of administrative support for a variety of events. You will be comfortable with working in pressured environments and will be able to sustain high levels of mental attention for the preparation of reports, agendas, writing minutes and attendance at meetings.

Experience and Skills

We need you to show initiative, that you can competently organise and manage your own workload, can meet hard deadlines, make informed decisions, constructively challenge, offer up improvement proposals and respond to unanticipated problems, such as presenting material in a different format to suit the needs of the customer. We would like you to be able to interact effectively with a range of customers and stakeholders by providing sound communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need to be able to create and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers, team colleagues and external partners and organisations. We also need you to be able to work with colleagues to provide guidance when requested on project support and governance, e.g. how to complete processes or documentation, or assisting in appropriate implementation of new policies and / or changes to procedures. This role will require you to be flexible, think on your feet and be creative with solutions. Working within a dynamic team that embraces change and progression, you will never be bored.

Key Skills:

  1. Sound communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with a range of customers and create effective working relationships.
  2. Ability to organise and prioritise work and coordinate a variety of tasks in a clear and logical way to meet agreed deadlines.
  3. Ability to interpret complex information to produce a high-quality document with minimal guidance. Also, the ability to organise, plan and meet set targets e.g. for producing reports.
  4. Ability to organise and present information clearly, concisely and accurately and in ways that promote understanding, either verbally or in written / electronic form with limited guidance.
  5. Sound and accurate IT skills including a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, for word processing, data processing, report writing and maintaining computer databases at a high level.

Qualifications and/or Experience

  • BTEC Higher or equivalent qualification or experience, demonstrating that level of applied knowledge in providing an administration service.
  • Demonstrable experience of working as a competent member of a team, ideally in a project support role or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a rapidly changing environment and of working within project management systems/practices and providing effective support.
