We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and organised Participation Worker to co-design and deliver campaigns with young people. You will have strong project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels.
This role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to coordinate, develop and support our well-established elected East Sussex Youth Cabinet to be the representative voice of young people in East Sussex. You will ensure that their involvement is meaningful and appropriate. You will also be responsible for facilitating and increasing their links with other youth voice groups.
The post involves working in collaboration with colleagues in the Children and Young People’s Trust: schools, East Sussex County Council, NHS, community safety partners, voluntary sector and local district and borough councils to enable campaigns are impactful.
We are looking for someone who understands youth voice, has experience of facilitating consultation activities and keeps up to date on youth participation policy, and current tools and practices to engage young people both virtually and face-to-face.
This role will require you to work occasional evening meetings and weekend working.
You will be joining the Equality, Participation and Strategic Partnerships team in Children’s Services. It is a creative and friendly team, committed to enhancing the outcomes for children; and has an extensive network of children, families, local leaders and external providers across East Sussex who support the delivery of their work.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
