Homelessness Officer
Epping Forest District Council are recruiting for key roles within its Housing Needs Service. These roles present an opportunity to join the service at a pivotal point in its development and work with a highly skilled and motivated team who are committed to providing robust, quality services that effect real change in the overall wellbeing of residents in housing need.
We are seeking a strong, proactive and compassionate homelessness officer to join our team. You will be responsible for assessing customers housing needs and wishes in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, producing personalised housing plans with a focus on homelessness prevention.
You will work with customers to find sustainable housing options, helping clients achieve their goals and increase their life opportunities moving forward.
You will work holistically managing a caseload whilst drawing in support and assistance from other organisations as appropriate to maximise opportunities and outcomes.
You will conduct interviews undertaking comprehensive investigations in accordance with statutory legislation and compile detailed S184 decisions whilst maintaining an up to date understanding of homelessness legislation.
You will participate in a 24 hour call out rota tailoring questions in order to gather sufficient information to make a judgement on whether or not to provide emergency accommodation.
