Shape a better future with us

An exciting opportunity has become available to enhance our business intelligence (BI) capabilities by identifying and implementing cutting edge tools and processes to continue to provide first class BI solutions for our organisation and key partners.  We are already on that journey, with a large and growing BI data warehouse and a range of innovative outputs including a National award-winning Power BI Vulnerability Index, but we want to do more and realise the benefits from data to inform and direct services through insight and intelligence.

Your role in our journey

You will have considerable experience of implementing innovative BI solutions into a large and complex organisation to deliver first class BI to help tackle the key priorities and challenges a council face.  You will have experience in identifying and realising additional income generation from partner groups and agencies.

You will work closely with the BI team to implement new technologies to support their work, whilst developing a key network of internal and external parties to continue our exciting BI journey.

What you’ll need

To join us, you will need a level 6 degree / diploma or equivalent in a related discipline and substantial experience of working in a BI environment. If this sounds like you, then there’s never been a better or more exciting time to come join us. So, if you’d like to be part of our success and help us to build a brighter future for Barnsley, then please apply now – we’d love to hear from you!

A lot to look forward to

Here at Barnsley, we live and work by four important values: honesty, teamwork, excellent service, and taking pride in what we do. As part of our team, you can be sure we’ll do all we can to support you in being truly excellent. We’ll prioritise learning and enabling you to achieve your potential. We’ve created a development process that lets you grow in the way that suits you - whether that’s training to be a leader or learning flexibly online. That’s one of the reasons why we achieved IIP Gold, and why you’ll find your career here inspiring and rewarding.

We welcome the opportunity to have a chat about the role and are happy to address any questions you may have about flexible working arrangements, including caring responsibilities.
